Classes and Workshops

Advanced Doula Trainings include Contract Writing Workshops and Infant Sleep Basics for Doulas. I offer them combined for a full day of training or you are welcome to sit in on one or the other. These courses can be great for new and established birth workers looking for expanded and updated information on solidifying their business materials and the conversations around sleep and sleep training.

If you are hoping to host these workshops in your community, I offer a generous trade package in exchange for your hard work and interest. It is an ENORMOUS help to me to have a birth worker who is currently practicing in that area to help me learn about the established doula groups, secure a location for the event, and to spread the word. In exchange, you get the chance to sit in on all of my classes in that area free of charge, in addition to some other perks.

I’m open to coming to any community, so let me know! This year I’m really hoping to hold workshops in : New York, DC, Baltimore, Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Albuquerque, major Texas metro areas, Chicago, Portland, San Diego, and Los Angeles. If you are in any of these areas and would like to collaborate, please reach out.

I have trainings coming up in Santa Cruz (June), Marin (June), Sacramento (July), Phoenix (likely September), and Philadelphia (likely September). These dates and ticket links will be posted shortly.

Infant Sleep Basics for New Parents at Mini Mint, Santa Cruz

Sleep! Are you nervous about infant sleep issues, sleep training, and your own sanity around lack of sleep with a newborn? This class is designed not to give you yet another dose of confusing, opinion-based baby sleep training methods. Instead, this class starts with the basics of infant biology so you can understand and address the patterns of sleep you may notice in your baby and start to make adjustments based on your individual family’s needs.

From there, you can learn some tips and tricks from a doula with over a decade of experience working with new families in their homes, as an infant care specialist in a day care, and former nanny.

Learn how you might be able to adapt to baby’s natural patterns of eating and sleeping so that you may not need to do a formal cry-based sleep training method at all. Check out my Infant Sleep Service page to learn more about my approach to sleep adjustment training.

This class is focused primarily on sleep in the first 6 months, and is open to expectant families as well as families with babies any age under 1 yr. You are welcome to bring your kiddos along with you to the event.

This class is being held at the wonderful Mini Mint shop at Pleasure Point in Santa Cruz May 9th from 1-3. Class is from 1-2:30pm with an extended Q&A till 3pm. $35 per person ($45 per couple/pair) in advance or $40 at the door. Refer 2 friends and get my sleep basics handbook.
